This is a simple recipe of a homemade caramel sauce. I love how easy the recipe is and the taste is amazing. It reminds me of my childhood days when we didn’t have much. Our mother would melt the sugar, break it, and have it for us to eat as candies.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions:
- Melt the sugar in a sauce pan (preferably a deeper pot, because it burns easily) and whisk constantly.
- After the sugar is melted, take the pot off of the stove and add whipping cream a little bit at a time while whisking the caramel.
- Let it cool (I like to have the caramel sauce in a clear wide mouth squeeze bottle and have it stored in the refrigerator. Microwave the sauce slightly after the refrigerator for an easier dispense).
